Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Seriously people???

Maybe everyone should practice the old "If you can't say something nice; don't say anything at all" rule! McClendon's death is tragic and very sad. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends. However, Doug Lawler and the management team are not responsible for McClendon's actions. I hope the present management team continues to move forward in an honest and professional manner for the sake of all of our futures. I wish them the best! Please people, be kind!

Aubrey was a useless thug that defrauded people to get his way. Once cHarged, the thug decided to kill himself. The only thing that would make this tragic is if he would've killed someone else

Yes, I agree, Lawler and the present management did nothing wrong. In fact, I believe when we get to the other side of this downturn they will have saved the company. I support their efforts completely. I also believe all of the hatred being voiced will inhibit these efforts for the company to move forward.

I don't really care about being kind, but how about being realistic? AKM elected to break the law. The fact that the new managent team cooperated with the feds to protect the company, it's shareholders and employees does not make them guilty of anything. Quite the opposite. If they had evidence that AKM broke the law and didn't cooperate, then they would have been as corrupt as the last regime. AKM drove his car into a wall because AKM was indicted because AKM broke the law. He made the decisisons that led to this outcome long before Doug and team ever showed up.
