BM: The bank has set a long-term goal of 1 percent

"For one metric, return on assets, the bank has set a long-term goal of 1 percent". Is it just me? How can shareholders be content with this kind of expected performance? They're whacking associates to beat the band all to support a best case growth of 1%? What shareholder would have bought into this if the process of making all those acquisitions for promises of future earnings power had an expected outcome of not even a proxy for US GDP? I'm guessing BM's 1% doesn't even take inflation into that expected growth. Sure, he'll say it does, but betting they'll be lucky to hit that target without the adjustment. Break this under performing company and its underperforming executive team up.
