Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Concord, CA

I was a my work tech employee in Concord, CA. Never was told to go back into the office. Was excellent in what I did. Then bang I was told I was being severed.

My manager was more upset than I was. So guys it's happening and sooner or later you will be told it's your turn, especially if you are located in a non-hub sites. California especially. Your manager will have no choice but let you go.

A lot of doors closed and strangely quiet

If that's the lame reason for CA what about the other non hub locations? GA, FLA (exception Jacksonville), certain areas in Texas, Washington state, AZ (exception card center). Those are only a few. Sorry but that's a bunch of bull. They want California revenue no problem there. Without the state's money most of the banks profits would be lost.

It's very obvious. Concord technology is almost a ghost town. They started with all managers there now it's those that are left. But it's not just California it's any location that is not a "core/hub" site. Before I was Laidoff we had a contractor in Atlanta that was at the end of his term. His direct manager wanted to hire him but couldn't because Atlanta is not a core site. So they lost a really good project manager. It just depends on the business line you are in. However I'm hearing that at a corporate wide level the my work is being phased out. So again if they have no core/hub location for you to go back to then the alternative is Laidoff.

Don't mean to scare anyone just being transparent here.

Thank you for this info. What makes you think they are targeting CA more than other states?

My manager and rest of my team was in various locations across the US. I was the only one in California.

The point is all employees in California within certain business lines need to prepare for that notice. Especially those in technology
