Sounds like another clever move- sign a huge deal with Instacart- then today Instacart announces they are financially challenged- looking at layoffs and will be cutting salaries in thirds- guess that wait will be a lot more than an hour!! Also signed a huge solar contract- last year they were fighting with the insurance companies over liability for having solar on rooftops- huge risk for firemen fighting a fire and many of them caught fire on their own- now a company wide rollout- I'm sure the insurance companies upcharge will be much greater than the savings that solar represents- and don't dare give me that Green Mission BS since the Muckity Mucks wrote that Core Value off long before the rest of them.

You necroed a three year old thread, but it's funny to see the old amazon comment. The good news is that you won't have to use them anymore because they started pulling instacart from Whole Foods in February.
The elderly and mobility challenged need grocery delivery. Problem with instacart is that they mark up groceries from 30% to 500% above what the store charges. Example, the store charges $5 for pack of chicken thighs and instacart charged $24. If the store is out of half the items, they don't reduce your bill, they just jack up prices on what few items are in stock. After this they add $50 more to your credit card for contingencies which they claim will be removed, plus they add delivery charges, services fees and tips which comes to about $15. This happened to me, safe to say I won't use them again.
I'm still wondering why we didn't partner with Amazon for delivery.
I have a friend with Publix and there is a service called "Shipt" that does exactly what Instacart does. They come in, shop, then deliver for a minimum fee plus a percentage of the total. It's pretty basic. No one has multiple orgasms over it or claims it's going to revolutionize the universe.
Well duh, Instacart is just a fancy name for a personal shopping and delivery service. Our executive team thinks everyone is as stupid as they are. They are so enamored with Instacart as if it's some kind of dramatic life-altering technology. IDIOTS. Anyone can set up an app and start a business to shop for people and drive the stuff to their house. This isn't rocket surgery! LOL... It's already being done at grocery stores all over the place. It will not increase sales, it will increase problems because we don't know what's in stock and there will be a zillion returns because the customer doesn't like the apple that was picked out. Instacart is a good match for us though: Total hype.
God forbid the glamorous and wealthy would ever have to do their own grocery shopping..it might interfere with yachting or other shopping..
