Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

SRP v2 is finally here

Hi all,

After my crushed morale screwed me over most of the day; it's time to let y'all know what happened.

I was pinged by my director on Thurs. Met him yesterday and the hr b*tch obviously. They told the second round of srp budget cuts were communicated ahead of calendar Q2 and the impacted employees were being notified.

The gist is my packet is 3 weeks of pay plus vacation payout. But I will depart 2 months from now as usual. Another guy in our team was in the same situation too.

What else is there to say other than "brace yourselves".

OP may be lying. But what we know for certain is that none of us are getting Spring review Merit, Bonus or RSU. SRP is alive and will continue to live till 2017

One anonymous person posts an uncorroborated experience and now SRP v2 is a real living thing.. Don't be so gullible.

Haven't been to all hands meeting for someone. Anybody knows if this SRP v2 has been talked about in any of the day recent All Hands?

If so, what was the reason provided this time for the need of RIF? What percentage thus time? Is it acrose the board or localized?

OP: That sucks. OTOH, things appear to be picking up in both software and firmware, and hardware related to cameras/video. I've been getting more job inquiries from companies in So-Cal since I found my new job in November than I had before. So get your resume out there, and make sure your LinkedIn and other public media sites look as professional as possible. (Several recruiters and in-house global talent directors have specifically requested to be friended, so you might want to remove the "selfies" of you with the group partying at Building K....)

qye: That goes without saying. But some of them work more closely with legal than others--like the people doing the RIF. If workers spread the word who these people are, and refuse to deal with them unless forced to by the company--because they can't trust them to keep confidences, once they have RIF-ed all of the people in this wave of layoffs, they may be the next ones out the door. It's a relatively harmless "payback" strategy that requires minimal effort on our part. Just post the initials and the titles. These are people with more useless degrees and certifications than a lot of the newer H-1Bs.
