How can Carrollton lay off good people? Then turn around and have workers work overtime on the week end. Then have no work on Monday - Wednesday.

As slow as it is . Nobody should be working overtime.
How do you lay off good people? easy, the manager brings them into a room and says, "okay, what am i wearing today?, Boxers or briefs ?" and you say, "What?" and your manager says, "come on boxers or briefs, choose wisely and you get to keep your job, choose poorly and well, your wife could leave you, you could lose your house, your kids may miss out on that college education and grow up democratic..".. "What say you boxers or briefs?", and you say "uhhh, briefs ....." and your manager smiles, and nods to the HR lady sitting next to him, and he says................" well, the correct answer is.......
No need for high school-level name-calling. It's all about survival of the Company and its facilities. Sadly, headcount is a large part of the everyday overhead, and is very easy to reduce.
.
Because you moron, it's cheaper to pay overtime than it is to pay for a total compensation package- do you think the benefits are free?
