whats going on in Eagleford, there are now 8-10 full time employees on the drilling side working down there, an army of consultants and soon to be only 5 rigs? Does drilling know something the rest of us don't? Was passing through the drillers office the other day and they now have 4 drilling supts, 4 field supts but rigs are still dropping. Any ideas whats happening? Also those guys they have on the rigs are super experienced working 2nd to consultants? Wondering how long MRO can justify those salaries?

Seems they did just tap some drillers in Bakken.

I always wondered why MRO hired rig guys when consultants are cheaper overall and just as good at the job or better. If we are truly an independent then why do we still have these guys? Time for a TAP in my opinion.

Interesting observation...I can't speak for anyone else but in the not to distant past it was my perception that the Eagle Ford asset wasn't a place people aspired to be. The volume of work and lack of mobility was pretty daunting. If some of the folks tied to resource plays, especially operations based positions are reaping the benefit of employment at this point I can only assume it's because the company values their experience and continued impact.

If this company strives to be "premier" (whatever that means) or to have any value on engineering and technology outside of the "what needs to be done now" approach it couldn't hurt to have a slightly heavy staff to tackle bigger issues.

Counter to what HR believes you also can't gear up seamlessly overnight if the operational plan changes in a favorable direction.

Guess you didn't make it over to the other side of the hall and see all the excess people in completions/geology or up to Reservoir? You were probably working very hard yourself and just "passing through" on your way to get you a little piggy in the blanket action....or maybe it was on Tuesday and you were trying to get a stuffed taco! Either way, they got a great choice of food selection going on there in the drilling group!
