Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Worried about layoffs

I am grateful to Chevron and the colleagues I worked with for 26 years. I'll remember my career with good memories. One has to embrace the positives and cast away the negatives in life and career to be happy. I'm more fortunate than many. Sometimes it's a question of attitude.

Left Standing in the cold. Even your supervisor of 15 years will disown you, many of your longtime colleagues will turn their backs or ignore your fate.

Left Standing = you are on your own to find a job

It's not that hard to follow this process

How will the ESP affect national staff? If we are left standing and repatriated to host country can we displace local staff. I.e. local staff made redundant and we get that job? Is this a likely scenario?

You have no need to worry, because you always look at the positive, not the negative, unlike the last butthurt poster. I have a feeling that you will be successful and fulfilled in whatever endeavor you partake, career or retirement. We are fortunate to have you as a coworker at Chevron. Good luck to you and have a great life!

It's always a question of attitude. For me, I had a great career of 25 years with Chevron. I left with my head Knowing I gained a lot from my experience and Chevron provided me with excellent pay and benefits. I didn't care much for the way my layoff took place. But then again, I had a good run and was probably prepared to leave anyway in 5 years. Chevron decided my time was up. For what it's worth, I'm grateful for theorize I had with the company and great colleagues. Best of luck to all.
