School newspaper clearly states that B&N will take over in June when Follett contract expires.
I'm under the impression Georgetown will still be FHEG but will be going virtual to a centralized location. That's the trend right now
And thus the reason both BN and Follett continue on the downward slope to oblivion. While we are escalating rents, funding remodels - new stores and parking garages, retailers like Amazon are avoiding the physical store all together. Compare the profitability of both models and it is easy to see which will win the in the long run.
Combine this with the fact that the schools and athletive departments are making agreements directly with the school. "Cal signs 10-year, $86-million sponsorship deal with Under Armour".
I think I would buy Baker Taylor and quit investing so much in the retail stores.
And Barnes lost their contracts at Texas Christian, Louisville and Rice Universities (to name a few) to Follett. It's part of doing business in a lease management industry. You all should become journalists so you can spout your sensationalistic views and get paid for it.
It is important to bid on stores with a commission structure that allows Follett to make a profit. It is better to be smaller and profitable. Dividends are paid out of net income and cash flow.
Store counter on the almighty Quad will go down a few notches! but it's a known issue, follett's working on it.
