With the recent pick up of oil price, when do we expect to see massive hiring in the industry ( both service and operation companies) ?

The price no longer matters. There is so much extra oil sitting in tankers just waiting to be unloaded that work will be slow for another year or more. If the Government and or corporations cared they would just send the tankers back to towel land, because the truth is we don't need their oil and there isn't much of a market for play sand.
Our recruiters need something to do.
I hear they have a hiring freeze in effect, yet I still see some job postings
Hiring in may 16. Good times are back.
Yep. This is a grease ball industry.

Layoffs till Q3/4 2016.
Hiring commence Q4 17 / Q1 18
Hiring will not ever be massive. Industry has changed. Roles are being reformed. Finding good people will be harder than ever during the next up tic. New bright minds want nothing to do with O&G. Also baby boomers entering end of careers.
About the year of 2075.

Not any time soon.
Historically, layoffs in the O&G arena lag company/stock performance. If that trend is followed, layoffs will continue unabated for the next quarter at a minimum. Re-hiring will be very slow and careful for years.
anytime from now
