Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

COST Team. Where are they now? Did they actually do anything to benefit COP besides create open positions for themselves?

Since all of the COST team members managed to 'create' open positions for themselves during layoffs, how are they working out in the assets? Are they actually more qualified than the people they displaced? It seems most of them made themselves supervisors, managers, or directors of some obscure team. Most of these people were considered to be in non-essential positions before they were put on the COST team. Seems like they were being protected from above.

Our new manager was moved to our team after being on COST. I had some initial concerns about someone from that team leading our group but at this point they are way better than the do nothing who ran our team before. So far it is an upgrade for us.

COP seems to have a problem with dealing with ethics issues. The problem is...they do nothing. Why do they protect certain people and risk dealing with lawsuits? Is that person really worth it?

I think it should be a violation of ethics if they take a position on a team where some members were layed off.

Most of the COST Team are only more qualified in kissing boots and otherwise clothed anatomical regions. But when the Executive "Leadership" Team abdicates and hides...you get the sycophantic parasites. Being on the COPC COST Team will "cost" them in the end...because their names and reputations are known outside COP!

I know of a couple of qualified, hard working staff that were put on COST because they were the right age demographic and their manager was trying to fulfill his succession planning goals. But agree most people put on COST were suck up know nothings that managers were just trying to place to save them or get them out of their way and some highly qualified "over-the-hill" staff we let go to make room for them.
