One thing that hasn't been touched on this forum since the layoffs - has anyone had experience with the Lee Hecht Harrison services? A number of us have not started our 3-month complimentary professional transition services (or whatever they want to call it). Any positive experiences? Negative? Just curious before I send them all of my information, if I decide to.

Catch 22. All big companies want a reference from your past supervisor if you want to work there. But if asked to provide a reference they all have a policy not to give one because they afraid to get sued. Only in America, what a joke
You need to get another reference at Williams,, it I very simple and don't make a big deal out of it, do it quietly,
My IM Manager won't give anything other than that I worked for him. Frustrating.
Every employer will ask on their application for a reference at Williams. Williams should not be preventing the ability to use references, could be illegal and it is absolutely unethical. I would ignore this.
Wait, you're not allowed to use a current Williams employee as a reference, even if you directly reported to them?
I do understand the legal issues, but none of the Managers that I bailed out many times, will be a reference for me per the Williams company policy even for minimal questioning. All was great until the layoff. Is anyone else hearing same thing?
They are Ok for being free. They might give you a tip or two. There are lot of books you can read as well.
Hello
Will try it, it's free. I find it a little Insincere since you really need a strong recommendation and a sponsor from Williams to get another job. If they are not going to write a recommendation for you and contact leads and put it on Williams letterhead, and do the leg work it has a little value. But again it's free, so what do you have to lose, but you are really are on your own
I would get them to review your resume and suggest edits, but beyond that it has been a waste of my time.
I know they keep calling me, its getting worse than a bill collector. F off
What you need is sponsors, recommendations and job leads. If they don't produce anything this services probably isn't worth much. I will try it, see if it helps. The way the cuts where made it is was very brutal. I would to like to say more but cannot since I signed my rights away with the servance package, a tough decision to make.
Completely worthless
I told them to f--- off when they called, Williams is cutting costs by getting rid of people. Then hires a 3rd party company to help you find a job with a career coach....no thanks I hope Williams goes under
It is a total joke!!
