Broadwell-E is a modest boost
At the end of the day, what Intel is offering here are slightly better versions of the products that it has been selling for the better part of two years, with an ultra-expensive variant added on top. For those people who are willing to spend more than $1,700 on a processor, Broadwell-E is actually a pretty-interesting launch.
but why get rid of the people who got us thru the past. I mean the PTD folks. They have got rid of some talent we can not afford to loose. we are still trying to catch up from last years losses
The business that made this company is in steep decline. Coupled with the fact that this company has never succeeded at ANY venture other than x86 is another sharp blow. Add to that the development cost of 1276 as well as the pure science roadblocks still in the way and the future for Intel looks very troubled, even if they succeed the company must go thru significant downsizing.
