Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

Tell the public how many jobs you sold, Cabelas!

How come the last news that can be Googled about a Cabela's layoff is from the layoff of 70 back in September? More than 150 people met in Sidney to hear their jobs were sold within the last month. How many got the same news in other locations? Where in the hell is the news on this?!? Sidney KSID wrote their praising article of the sale but the company won't release numbers and the media sure isn't pushing for it. Not so much as a whisper on the Sidney Sun. Tell them how many people, Cabelas. Tell them how many families are scrambling for jobs, ways out, and money to feed their families as soon as they pack their boxes on July 31 while your execs sit comfortably with their promises of blood money. You could divide one person's severance 100 times and give these families a drop in their bucket but you know that the "slave class" will figure it out while you fat cats don't lose a wink of sleep over financial woes.

Check out Nebraska Job Service website , because Quad Graphics has more positions listed there. Unless there are duplicate positions around 50 are listed. Still a net loss of jobs

It would be interesting to see the terms on building rental in Sidney. Betting a 12 month lease, and after the transition is complete, the location locks up. This isn't exactly a Mecca for design staff... Not even when the jobs available are 5 times what they plan to offer.

Also remember these jobs are open to the public. For all we know they're already filled. They just have to promise to let the Cabela's people interview. Just because they have 32 open positions doesn't mean 32 Cabela's workers have a new job, nor do 32 jobs "on paper" equate 32 actual jobs. Nobody will say if these are temporary or part time in nature, which sends red flags shooting up.

Quad does "the same amount of work with less (American) people."

They outsource.

Maybe Quad can do the same amount of work with less people?

Does anybody know that works up there if the jobs that Quad is offering are the only ones that people in creative are going to be offered? Looks like a serious reduction of workforce. I know for a fact that there are more people in roles then what Quad is offering.

What is the exact number of positions lost to Quad? If 157 people were affected and 32 positions are available = net loss of 118 jobs and 118 more houses for sale

Quad Graphics shows about 30 open jobs in Sidney. Mainly management positions.

Seriously KSID will not post a negative news story regarding the green monster on the hill. The paper did run the story and props to them.
