Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

ips life insurance

So I read conflicting things about when your life insurance ends... But I called the actual provider... It is 31 days after termination. So we are all still covered.

I also inquired what it would cost to continue coverage. It looks crazy expensive... On the side I talked to my insurance agent. He has me coverage for $25 a month, for $500k. Minnesota (the insurance provider) wants like $67 a month for the same. Anyone else inquired about continuing coverage and got a better result? (I am only 39, so not high risk).

I used Mike Backman insurance in Hillsboro. It of course depends on a lot of things, like age, health, and such. And of course how much insurance you want.... And something about the term. I only wanted it for a few months until I get a new job so I took a short term that I can pay month to month. If you go longer term it of course costs more and all that. I am sure Mike or someone in his office can find you a good solution.

You will be able to keep your life insurance, but not at the Intel group policy rate unfortunately.
