Thread regarding Huron Consulting Group Inc. layoffs

Layoffs again June 4 2016

More talented people let go. Management lacks leadership and direction. High client fees and company does not know how to compete with innovative clients. Anyone who is talented is looking for other opportunities. Those that will be left are just trying to ride it out until they can retire. Very clique oriented and evaluated on who you are friendly with rather than your contribution and value.

The ethics of this company are only for their own benefit. Honesty, integrity do not exist nor does transparency. A client spends millions to take the advice of this company and after a layoff which effects them employees are told it is business as usual and do not tell the client what happened to everyone that is missing! Clients notice!! Be honest. Why would a client trust anything Huron recommends? Just an example of why Huron is finding themself in this position. Leadership is clueless and has no idea how to change. Give the front line employees a break and shareholders need to demand a change in leadership!

This company is clueless. They need a strategist to get them through. This company is a paradox. Build a relationship with a client to have for life and then don't tell the client the truth as to what happened to the team leads? This could be the problem they have. CLIENTS ARE NOT STUPID!!

Word on the street is this will not be the last layoff of the year. Selling the legal practice was an attempt the keep revenue to projected budget. Now without subject matter experts in healthcare Huron will not be able to compete with other companies. This is a slooooow agonizing death for this company.

This company is dying. Prime example of talking the talk but unable to deliver. Supposedly layoff was example of "good stewardship". If this was the case top leadership would have been laid off instead of the people who actually deliver. For those of us not laid off we are now having to compete with those who were laid off in the job market. Everyone is running for the exit door!

Know your RIF rights. Before signing anything. Age is a protected work class and Hurons strategy is to eliminate experienced employees and replace them with college grads with a "tool kit". Guess they haven't figured out that's a confidence builder with their clients! The experienced employees left haven't worked in healthcare for over 15 years and a lot as changed. They need to eliminate the top and get new leadership. No wonder they can't sell new work. Huron needs to hire a consulting group to correct the downward spiral. Look for more layoffs as the last one was supposed to correct things. They can't even get their RIF's right.

2 layoffs in the last 8 months. They are a waste of everyone's time. Disgusting company and biggest scam in the market. They set absurd benefits and rarely meet them due to their lack of transformational work, incompetent leadership, and inept sales teams. Huron is done.

Layoffs across all areas with exception of strategy and studer group. Once Clint Studer sold he couldn't distance himself fast enough. Pointed out how poor evaluation process was and how poorly delivery based on client's needs were. Prime example of a consulting company that only knows how to do things 1 way. Huron does have wonderful press-too bad it's just a figment of their imagination. Voted again top consulting company-evidence of their great marketing.

anyone know if the layoffs were concentrated in one area, e.g. Higher Ed, Healthcare, etc. Or across all practices?

So true. 60 people let go so stockholders can make their money. Stockholders need to dump their holdings ASAP. More to come and unfortunately the clients suffer. Nothing in the horizon and clients going with other more reputable firms. Leadership is so top heavy and no one is in charge. Prime example of a company gasping for air!
