If we are so overstaffed, then why are we so busy in my team? It seems like everyone is running around in SJ and have no free time. I know we don't have any rigs, but people seem very occupied by work. How on earth can they think we have too many people????

Lol this is hilarious how did I miss this post! 30th is literal ghost town and H64 is a proverbial highschool ...they are not occupied by work they are occupied by gossip and back biting aka networking to stay the favorite so that they are not on the next chopping block! They could clip the 200 building in half, demolition 400 building and take out half of planning and scheduling and I bet noone would notice! Over staffed is an understatement for sure!!!
Ha, I've seen that "worker" they show up in the morning for the morning meeting, then vanish until around 2:00, leave again, come back around 4:00 then "work" until 6:00. Then take both flex days off, but come in on weekends to make it seem like they are putting in the extra time.
Maybe the people are disorganized and incompetent and can't get their work done on time.
You poor thing, you still don't get it. In this climate no one should be cheating and lying about their 'earned' paycheck. Most managers would not be in favor of people cheating the company....especially when they might have the difficult decision to make staffing cuts.
Thou shalt not lie!
Jesus doesn't care about that either. He was in favor of the poor during his lifetime. Jesus wouldn't give two sh--s about an employee working 7 hours per day instead of an agreed upon 9.
But I doubt Jesus approves of unethical people who cheat their employer. I think that was part of the point.
Jesus doesn't care how many hours people put in at the office...
There are some who are masters of staying under their boss' radar, like coming to the office 10 min before he does and taking a two hour lunch because he is off at the gym for two hours and doesn't have a clue what some in his group do.....oh wait....he doesn't care! In essence, those employees have no work ethic and obviously don't have enough to put in even 7 he days. Shameful for anyone, but even more shameful on those people because they are claiming to be a Christian.
If you're busy in these times, then you cannot handle the truly busy times. And should not be here.
Don't know why this is a question. It's the same thong Burlington did when Conoco bought them. Reduce staff and overhead to maximize profits... make it look like a pretty little package; then sell, sell, sell!
How come you made it through the layoff? Your grammer sucks
Agree,
Lots of non-value adding busy work being done to make staff think they are actually needed. If timely decisions could just made by Ryan and ELT , would not need to do all this meaningless analysis.
doing a lot of work isn't the same as adding value. Think about how much time is spent ineffectively - like meetings with 20 people in them to make a decision that one person had already made. Or fussing over a 10 year LRP which isn't even followed for 2 years.
Not all groups are busy, and not all groups have ethical and conscientious employees. Some groups have such unethical people that they might work 6 hours, but they are getting paid for 9. It is hard to witness and even harder to think they might be kept over hard workers.
