What happens when you unite two companies that are declining in a declining market? We will find out. BT was on the decline, not a growth path. Sales down 40% from the peaks in early 2000.

Notice that none of the IT from the four purchased companies report to SS in any way. They all report to business unit leads.

That makes sense. Baker and Taylor has long term, experienced employees who are committed to its success. When the Baker and Taylor CEO spoke at the town hall, he spoke about the importance of long term employees who are passionate about Baker and Taylor. Will be interesting to see if Follett moves its culture of sh--ting on employees to Baker and Taylor and how quickly they will move.
Perhaps move all distribution to Baker & Taylor facility??
