Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Does anyone remember the old slogan of "ONE FOLLETT"????

That was an epic failure... the concept ranks right up there with the "Bay of Pigs" operation! We just keep adding eggs and yolks on our faces... however there is a little silver lining (sarcastically)... in less than a decade the company has managed to destroy, tarnish and black balled a company that was pristine and prestigious for over 100 years+!

Now that's something that should he taught in every college level Business and Economics class how to destroy a once strong, vibrant and profitable private company into a laughing stock of the industry in a snap of a finger or blink of an eye.

You can't have One Follet when you are operating in multiple industries. Either the bookstores get all the perks and benefits of the software industry, or you kill the tech side of your business by not being competitive in the tech market. They choose the latter, of course. Odd, since they think that's their future.

In theory a good idea, but premature, no consideration for archaic systems and political BS. Terrible move- right up there with " new coke "

One Follett meant Follett v You. Under one Follett, the company culled the the heard. It focused on older employees who had worked hard for the company for many, many years. It expelled them while calling them stupid and unqualified. It added insult to injury by claiming that purging these workers would improve customer service (as if these folks caused the problem). It was mean. It was wrong. It was hurtful.

ONE FOLLETT has been a joke from day one. They took the worse policies from each division and made it across the board. Less holidays etc.

Once a great place to work has become a place of sadness.
