Sales, presales and others - major cull in Oracle UK

Oracle continues to beef up OD and inside reps. They are taking the lead. They are very young workers who work at much lower salary. It's less personable because they work the phones which cuts down on travel and expense. I don't know how they are going to sell expensive and complex software and services though. They are losing a ton of experience and relationships with customers. This is not HP where you sell a bunch of commodity pizza box servers. This is enterprise software.
I am also hearing that everyone is being pushed very hard to sell cloud but many of the cloud products suck and aren't ready. Many customers are being audited for license compliance and are being forced to take cloud or get sued for being out of compliance.
Not a good time to be at Oracle. Count yourself lucky if you get the axe and a severance. If history is any indication, this is just the first wave of layoffs. The benefits offered will erode over subsequent riffs as the company tries to save even more money.
Yes it's true ! There's no apparent strategic logic to the nature of the cuts . It looks like non revenue generating roles are most at risk . As usual appaulingly handled by faceless people.
I suspect much of the bloat in OD, pre-sales, education & consulting sales are going to experience major cuts.
Reliable sources indicate that there are Oracle HR meetings going on at this time focusing on layoffs to take place on or about Tuesday 31 May 2016.
Unfortunately no specifics available regarding which business units or areas would be affected....just speculation.
