Thread regarding Follett layoffs

It is coming.

Dear Family,

It is concluded that treating your employee’s well makes for a more productive, healthy, and happy workplace—which is just not good for your employees but for you too.

Let’s explore:

Productivity – Current Culture – Do 5 times more with 10 times less. This way of thinking actually decreases productivity. Most people want to be productive and need to see that they are accomplishing their to-do lists. Without the sense of accomplishment – what’s the use – they give up – productivity goes down. You can beat a dead horse but it still won’t move.

Healthy – Current Culture – We don’t care about your well being. A healthy employee is not only of physical health but also that of mental health. It is conclude that most physical issues are derived from ones mental health. The stress that comes from worrying equates to poor eating, high blood pressure and etc. Again, just as above, a downward spiral.

Just think about what happy and healthy could do for you. It’s proven you don’t have to be in a high margin business to accomplish this.

Look at history to see where you are headed. I suggest looking at Andrew Carnegie with the treatment of his steel workers and John D. with his treatment of his miners.

It is time for employers to shoulder the burden of handling their employees responsibly.
