Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Time to close Covington

Isn't it time to get rid of the Covington office and move those operations to Houston?

Lol at some of the best woman engineers. They had several of these great woman engineers looking for "cable stretchers" and "metric crescent wrenches". I don't blame them as it is obvious Chevron gave them no practical experience. They never came to the field before the incident so I am sure they will never show up after being embarrassed. The two supervisors that encourage these behaviors were both promoted during the ROM. Go figure!

@I4gFWga-3rjc, thanks, you are correct, I play the dominant woman, I generally bitch-slap twinkies like you who have no actual working nuts. When you grow a pair, then you can play the man. Until then, assume the position.......

I assume those posting to this thread or spending much time reading the posts are doing so on their 45 minute each way van pool ride to downtown Houston. You poor bastards- losing an hour and a half of your life every day you work. Love my 10 minute commute and lower cost of living in Covington. And what slacker women are you talking about? We have some of company's best female engineers and ES's. Life is good on the North Shore and will be for a long time to come.

@3lji, yes I do and like you, I am a gay man, but just not from Louisiana. I would like to hook up with you. Don't be shy, your comments gave you away. I bet you have a nice rosebud to experience. However, from your profile it is obvious that you may have a wallowed out sphincter reamed out by your other lovers. That's OK twinkie-boy. I'll be gentle. You just bend over and let Big Dick do all the work sweetie- LOL!

I don't know about the rest of the guys, but I'm a Dick. My first name is Richard, and that's what I've always gone by and have taken quite a bit of flak for it (at least until 3rd grade). But I'm 6-3 and 278 lbs. now. So that ended quickly. So you are at least partially correct. I'm not sure you make much of a point though.

You know they won't close the office until after the Shelf is sold, at the earliest. Why pay to move all those people and then pay to lay them off a year later? The office was built to eventually consolidate to the South Building and rent out the North Building.

Considering the state of the current economic situation, the mass sell off of the GOM and future cuts in DWEP, it's a bit foolish to think they would not relocate to Houston. Sell or rent space at COV and use the vast amount of unused space at Houston. I just don't see how upper management is not going to make the decision.

So they will close it in about 10 years? Cool.

@I4gFWga-kgi, Which one are you, a Steer or a Queer? It's obvious that you are one. No, I am not from Louisiana nor do I live or work there. Just a casual observer of Queer Steer types and deadwood posters worried about getting cut as they should be,

Guys- chill out! Covington is not closing no matter how much you wish for that to happen. Chevron has to keep an office in Louisiana as we have the operating Deepwater projects there. They will likely keep some D&C and Operations staff there.

You must be a ragin Cajun. This post isnt going to reveal anything insightful about the direction of the company but merely a statement of opinions on why Chevron has two offices supporting the Deepwater business. Covington office will eventually close down it is just a matter of when. It is about time the Lafeyette office is closing.

Yes, you guys are like two Texas pigeons talking to each other on a park bench. One Steer and one Queer. Real insightful thought there, fellas.. Deep. Keep it up. We're waiting for the punch line. LOL!

Yes, it's high time already they close the Covington office. Duplicate offices means duplicate costs. Sell everything and move the few employees left to Houston. Tomorrow is not soon enough.

Totally agree. Management needs to make that call. Whatever incentives we get in Louisiana isn't worry the extra costs of having two Lovations that could manage the same business.
