This does not surprise me about Vinnie . I worked for him years ago and he was a jack a-- back then . He was always a brown noser with upper management. You have to remember his wife Susan has the ring thru his nose. He has forgotten what Staples culture is really about. He has forgotten about the glory days of this company. He does not care he is worth money based on his salary and all of the old stock options he received. I am sure they helped him sell his house in Westchester county NY and move to Mass. Come on Servello if you had a manager that managed this way you would be pissed!! If my memory serves me right you thought you were GOD when you were the HR manager. Stop the crap and respect those that work for you and make you look good.

it's not odd. we're in nazi america. almost all media, even this board, are heavily censored now to promote certain belief systems at the expense of our current ones.
From what I hear from someone I know that works in Framingham, he is just as much of an A$$ to his secretary. I would love to hear the horror stories his children could tell. Just an all around curmudgeon.
Hopefully he will soon be removed and all he'll have to do is sit on his porch and yell "Get off my lawn!"
But being the bully and control freak he is , he'll probably go to local little league games just to taunt kinds on both teams, trying to regain that old power of making people cry.
Pinning targets on G.M. backs had been around for a long long time. This is the staples way. Nothing new. If they want you out, guess what? They make your life a living hell. And then laugh about it.
VS loves to fire people, even better is getting them in a position where he cuts their salary by $20,000 and they stay, so he can continue to harass them.
The first thing VS did when he became RVP was look at salaries of GMs and start pinning targets on their backs.
All that has been said here is true. Servello is a well known joke but Staples uses him for all his terrible traits that any other company would avoid. It's a failing company who employs failures to manage their business. It makes perfect sense.
They know all this and that is why he was made RVP...not to cultivate and develop people, but to drive out the best and brightest managers. They want to close stores. They don't want an over achieving GM actually making a store profitable, they'd have to pay him more, and that's the last thing they want.
TL:DR Vinnie was sent in especially because of all his negative traits to gut Region one.
VS is a sadistic, critical, demeaning, power hungry, take no hostages, conceited, napoleonic complex laden individual. How a company can keep this type of individual in a position of authority that is supposed to cultivate and develop people is beyond me. He is a bully, takes not responsibility and cares nothing about his DMs, GMS, and associates. We are all expendable according to him and he does not treat anyone like a person unless he sees some personal gain from it. Staples does not have a TRUE Human Resource division otherwise he would have been gone a long time ago.

Guys, FYI, admins nuke posts that cross the line, usually naming names, race and politics will take you there. They nuke all posts you ever made (happened to me) and they block your IP. I'm now on proxy which is pain in the a-- because of the speed.
Wouldn't surprise me if Staples bought this board just to be able to track IPs.

Simple solution - rather than naming the beast, just use VS, or R1RVP or GOMBAH!
