Wiil.i.am was one more (futile) attempt to brand Intel as "hip" or "cool". A bad idea thunk up in a conference room in Santa Clara by someone on the "in crowd" .... supported by a bunch of yes men and women (because, of course, they thought that the CEO or whoever above them supported it)... and, last but not least, poorly executed. Couldn't someone have at least gotten the guy some talking points and done a rehearsal or two?!

This, the BS "maker" game show, malfunctioning snowboard sensors, PC does what? campaign and all the rest could have been resurrected from complete uselessness with better execution. With a little bit of heart and soul. Sadly, that was s---ed out of Intel long ago. Replaced by corporate stooges with plastered on fake smiles talking to ill-prepared, likely stoned celebs on a stage in a room full of khaki Dockers-wearing a*sholes.

The man made the worst strategic blunder of the modern tech era on par with IBM handing the golden keys to Bill Gates. He was too stupid and arrogant and lived in an echo chamber of Intel yes-men sycophants that couldn't think their way out of a third grade arithmetic problem. These are the same people that thought will.i.am was a good idea.

Andy Grove approved of the logo change. He said so himself at the extended MCM meeting when it was unveiled.

It has been all downhill since Andy and the decent is steeper with each successive CEO. It has been somewhat hidden by the monopoly of X86. Hard to screw up when you have a monoply, but it is about all the billions wasted from the x86 monopoly.

The other thing of note is Andy, Robert, and Gordon were unique among the Intel executives in having worked at various other companies and between the three of them brought a wealth of outside failures and learnings.

Today intel is dominated by a CEO and management that has only experienced the intel x86 monopoly and really don't know how the rest of the world works. BK is even with his very limited IQ trying to bring in outside prospective, but sadly the larger company and BK himself simply don't have the experience from outside to make the turnaround.

PSO will get the blame for missing the iPhone and mobile.

BK will get the blame for being the CEO when Moore's Law ends and intel falls off the cliff

CRB is really the CEO that should be blamed the most, he presided over some of the richest times and wasted that decade on things that all were wrong. If instead he had made foundry and mobile a disciplined focus Intel would be x86+ARM+Qualcomm+TSMC all togather..

The CEO is important, sadly Intel board and executives were softened by the x86 monopoly and choose very very poorly and now the 100K employees, oops I mean the 80K, ooops I mean the 60K oops I mean the 40K employees will suffer
