Acquisition by Intel only assures start-ups that the leadership, autonomy and customer-focus that allowed them to gain early success will be delayed, disrupted and co-opted by a bunch of arrogant and ignorant Intel people who will force them to be part of some "platform" or "solution" that has nothing to do with the real world, customers' needs or a plan to bring it to market.

At the same time, Intel Business Development stooges will be told to push and so every slide deck will include some, most likely inaccurate, overstated postulation encouraging some "customer" to do a project incorporating the 48-person-start-up in some inappropriate way. The net result: the start-up is further time-s---ed, pulled from what it does best and customers are confused...and Intel is now competing directly with the other (dozens) of start-ups in the category. And, of course, anyone good from the start-up bides their time to get the F out of Intel ASAP.

@1jjs

+1 gold

Intel is the black hole of startups. Things go in and nothing comes out.

Another perfectly good startup bound to be messed up by Intel culture.

Expect to be sold at half the current price in a couple of years.

This is one of the major issues with Intel today, they think they can buy themselves to the top. The Intel of old would be able to spot tech trends way earlier and use its own massive resources and talented employees to develop their own solutions. Alas, those times are long gone.

What a bunch of losers of course new product is hard you have swing 20 times to hit a double high failure rate. I guess MS never should have necer bought DOS, Google never buy AdWords, Andorid, Utube. MOST Companies have one or if lucky 2 hits everything else is bought.

Biggest set of losses here

"Saffron has purportedly created software that mimics human reasoning and memory that it applies to problems...."

Really? Is this in any cars, phones, home device, laptop, desktop? Nope. I smell level one here. Intel is always great at buying the cow at the entire Ranch prices when a simple license agreement would be fine. Way to go Intel.....some startup just hit the fraud lottery....lmao

Intel buys Saffron AI because it can't afford to miss the next big thing in tech again

Yawn!
