Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Your future is in your hands.

Ask yourself, are you working at managing the needs of the changing markets, or are you working to defend doing more of what worked in the past? I truly believe it is a little of both. I admit, the old way was good and wish it was the same. However, I have to be honest with myself and figure out if I have it in myself to change with the market. Honestly, is your time spent targeting the future, or trying to recapture the past? Have market shifts made your beliefs outdated, your interpretations of what happens around you faulty, your assumptions inaccurate and your strategies and actions hurting results? If any of this is true, it time for you to consider your options. Step up to the new challenge, move on or continuing to invest your energy in more of the same.

This is a good post for everyone. Regardless of what happens at Follett, learn something new, get some news skill that are in demand outside of Follett. Work a normal week and spend your extra time (that you used to give to Follett) learning and growing. The old times at Follett are not coming back and if you have seen the numbers, it is unlikely Follett will remain independent......if I was a family shareholder I would improve the bottom line and sell this place.
