That's what many companies have learned, the ROI is much lower then promised or goes negative when deliverables aren't meet. The promises that were made turn out to be a nightmare because unlike replacing an employee(s) the effort of replacing a company that you have turned things over to can be quiet daunting if they weren't smart enough to purchase the code.
Exactly, learning from experience the return on investment is just not there. Target is already back in house. There is nothing wrong with staff augmentation with external resources, but you need your much deeper knowledge of your systems to be in house.
Right. Outsourcing is seeing a downward trend. If anything this is good news for those in IT.
