In about a month from now this is really going to hit home with those that thought they were bullet-proof

Yes, there were lots of EOIs this go round and that's great. Lots of people hoping to abandon a sinking ship, makes total sense. The problem is that those EOIs can't be granted unless they match up to areas where it's been determined that cuts need to be made. It's not just an overall headcount reduction in any group that they are trying to accomplish. Every leader has to work to make his/her headcount match a new and reduced budget. If you work in an area where little to no cuts are needed, you may not get your EOI wish come true. But if you are in an area where lots of cuts are needed or where someone else who would be at risk and wants to stay (and also a high performer and/or butt kisser) can be transferred, then you just may get to do your happy dance out the door.
Good luck to almost all of us and may the rest get exactly what they deserve.
Managers were emailed the list the day after closing for their group.
Let's not throw the word bigot around here lightly......
Sounds like you may be one yourself.
I also have an OU snob on my team , sad to watch they way they think!
There were a ton of EOI entries dont kid yourself....
Lots of EOI's. Just not all in the teams they were hoping for. Some piss poor engineers who s--- may actually get fired this time around. I can't believe the guy next to me is still here and being paid: He's a bigoted a-hole who thinks the world owes him a living just because he went to OU when oil was over $100/bbl.
I've heard from several reliable sources that there have been quite a few EOI's including younger employees.
I have heard from several sources that there is a LARGE number of EOIs.....
You don't know that. The information isn't available yet.
