Heard from my friend in HR that there will be about 800 layoffs in APAC. 250 layoffs in India with the rest mainly in Singapore and Australia. Notifications in APAC are not until at least next week.

India is WAY too expensive now. In fact recently I was looking to hire a couple of guys in India and once I did the numbers their CTC + overheads were 2-3x what I could get someone in China for.
So we hired in China and I get better motivated people who tell me the truth about how the're progressing and are not conspiring with all their colleagues against the company all the time.
