Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Went Down Swinging

I got LRed last year. I knew it was coming. We had a town hall meeting with my director and all of his reports. What an arrogant a--. Acted like he knew all and was all that and a bag of chips. I basically told him he was full of crap. We were pushing crap out the door. He compared our product to a free app you get on your cell phone. You should expect weekly updates. Sorry, comparing a free cell phone app to what a company runs its business on is clueless.

Now I work at Arista. Met the CEO. She came to our small (less than 15 people) office. Seemed like a real person and listened to what we had to say and called balls and strikes like she saw them. A refreshing change.

It's sad to see the two companies I used to love to work for, HP and Cisco, struggle. I wish you all the best.

Arista is basically Cisco 2.0. Same old cronies wrapped in different packaging. BTW...arista gets rid of people too but do do it even more cruelly with impossible PIPs and "managing you out" of the company.

Fair enough. I only met her once.

Your new CEO is not much different than the ones at Cisco :). She was my VP at Cisco.
