Intel effectively excited France in 2016. The current European climate is not favourable compared to India and China expansions.

BK' refusal to listen to Herman Eul and insist on bringing IA to the modem, and the Incompetent follower of Eul who promised BK that (price of diversity over competence) only to have it all rolled back now as the company embraces ARM were the fundamental horrific errors to begin with.
The ridiculous Spreadtum n Rockchip payments were next. 14nm delays next, the non-stop reorg churn that let no work progress next, diversionary tactics with diversty, minority, transexual focus worked for a while...with Obama out may not work, hence the site closure & mass latoff tactic...BK is a real professional politician & hardly the business leader material. He needs to join the Hillary Campaign :)

OP has a good point, I wouldn't open a European office if I were a CEO, they're just too hostile towards companies. I get being balanced between labor and the company, but they've tipped it way too far and this is the net result - no jobs. I wonder how long it'll take before they realize it and try to fix it? I fear the job losses are permanent in the short-to-mid term, as companies will have a "prove you've reformed" attitude before they think about coming back.

Intel used to be leader, but has relegated itself to a follower. Not good for anybody who may still think they have a career. Pity.
