Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

How can Baker Hughes justify laying off employees with spotless HR/employee records and keep those (particularly managers/supervisors) with numerous complaints and write-ups?

Apparently, it's not 'WHAT' you know, but 'WHO' you know.

OMBUDS/HR/Ethics Committee, where are you?

Baker is a buddy boy system. Its not what you know but who. All the supervisors are s--- assbitches which none of them have any balls. All of them kiss ass Sad part is that the managers are all s--- asses also...im so tired of this place i come everyday hoping to get laid off. Please hand me my package and i will gladly go. Why quiet im gonna milk this big titty bitch till the milk runs out 😂✌👀

A few more things. (1) The Ombuds officers work to protect the interest of the company first and foremost, official rhetoric notwithstanding. (2) "At will" employment needs no justification needed to terminate for either party. (3) The best protection for income security is to keep our marketable skills up, and consider work as two week jobs that may not may not renew (not "wed" to any employer).

There is a nugget of truth to the politics of downsizing. Do not forget, however, that employment is on an "at will" basis -- either party can terminated the relationship with or without reason, and with or without notice (in the US anyway). In other words, everyone is technically an "Independent contractor". You are not covered by an employment contract, are you?
