Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Uh oh. More HPE trimmings. Clearly, the bigger game plan is to eventually sell the company

Want to bet that the Chinese will attempt to buy what's left of HPE? After all, it's gotta have a decent IP portfolio.

Nope. Oracle will do a force takeover of HPE when the valuation goes low enough. Nothing will be more satisfying to Ellison and Hurd...

Think about it... Meg has been executing little by little Leo Apotheker's vision - only at a slower pace. So... I won't be surprised if HPE eventually merges with SAP.

Here is the full report with legal jargon saying they cannot sell themselves two years after the split as a part of the tax-free status that the separation gets: http://h30261.www3.hp.com/~/media/Files/H/HP-IR/documents/reports/2015/01-07-2015-form-10.pdf?jumpid=ba_r329_hhoaffiliate&aid=38293&pbid=TnL5HPStwNw&aoid=35252&ranMID=38293&ranEAID=TnL5HPStwNw&ranSiteID=TnL5HPStwNw-eW7iarZ_OlD9Epqv7PtxvA&siteid=TnL5HPStwNw-eW7iarZ_OlD9Epqv7PtxvA

We are fast approaching 1 year, come November. That means that when the merger with CSC completes in April, it will have around 6 months left before it sells itself. It will continue to spin off parts of itself with the latest one being software.

You can bet it will be in talks with other companies to be sold the day that the agreement expires. Wouldn't be at all shocked if hush-hush talks are going on right now in order to have everyone's wet signature on the line the day it expires Nov 2017. It's just a matter of Meg getting all her ducks in a row.

Seems like storage and servers is what will be left of HPE. Are you sure competitors would want to buy that - particularly Amazon and integrate it into the cloud and perhaps even combine servers and storage? Competitors are doing it. It would just give them more hardware to work with.

HpE has nothing Dell, Cisco Amazon wants. Cisco struggling itself. It depends on what is left of the trimmed HPE. Obviously Meg et al has buyer's market in mind in this ongoing paring down of the company. It's not random the HPE split included a 2 year no-sell clause. That is because the intention of the split was to sell off the HPE portfolio after the 2 years.

Yes, our manager told us that this was the plan... HPE is looking to sell itself.

I wonder who will buy HPE? Oracle? Dell / EMC? Cisco? Amazon?
