Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

If you want to save the California Region Ai Schools, please read...

It's no mystery that the California region is in the midst of potential unionization, especially with it being spear headed by the West Coast GVP, and several campus presidents. I know they feel this is best, but the parent company will never let it happen, we will all lose our jobs. All schools will go into teach out if we try to unionize.

I know many of the faculty have been contacted to have an "informal talk" with Fraud Clown. If he (or anyone else) even mentions a word of it, do not hesitate, go to HR immediately or you will be the one who will be booted! If need be and you feel you need anonymity, use the intranet compliance reporting system where you can remain anonymous if you'd like.

Everything Fraud Clown and his cohort of idiots presidents have touched has completely collapsed, their plan no unionize will destroy us. Don't take this as me being critical of unions, I would love a union, but we all know EDMC will close us, and they won't give a damn about the students who will be left out with no degree.

Oh please do anything you can to make the process go faster! The sooner AI and EDMC collapses, the sooner our DTRs go through.

Just how in the hell do people think a union can save a company that is losing millions and closing schools? If anything a union would speed up the process of closing down.

Do you think Fraud Clown is doing this to bring down the California region? Doesn't he have other west coast schools, is this limited to Cali?

It is inevitable that EDMC will soon close. Unionization may help th teachers somehwt in negotiating the severance if any.

He is not "scheduling" meetings with faculty. He has been much more manipulative than that. He typically wants to discuss your faculty file, you credentials, he will then find areas of issue and make it look like you could lose your position in the near future. He then begins discussing how this is because faculty have so little protection, he then tries to have you bring up the union yourself. He will be very supportive when you bring it up- not sure of his angle. I like the idea of a union, but I don't trust him, he is arrogant and stupid, a very bad combination.

The fat lady has sung. Anyone with half a brain can see the AI and EDMC has been dying a death of a thousand cuts. Unionizing is not going to save your job if the company closes its doors. Unions only work when you have a job worth fighting for. To be honest, I am surprised they didn't start closing the schools down in the west first. After all, there are hundreds of options for the student to transfer to and no one would even notice.

Regardless of what you think of the company's stock value, it is about to go to zero, as is the market cap. It's too late. Traded or not, when a company's stock goes to zero, there are consequences. At this point, I don't think the organizing of a union will mean much. In any case, I suspect the company will make a big announcement very soon and then everyone will be out of work. So go ahead and organize a union. It doesn't matter anymore. The company is dead.

Face the facts the business model is failing and unionization will just drive the last few nails deeper and faster ...
