Absolutely no reason to do this other than trying to fix the books after the botched BG merger that they lost all of that money on. Cutting these jobs is short-sided. They are going to lose 40% of Gulf workers due to retirements in the next couple of years. Cutting these jobs now only ensures that they will be without any talent or skill in a couple of years. A dangerous situation.
