Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

What was 6.99$ is now 6.99$ on sale, with a regular price of 10.99$..

I thought this restructuring was about LOWER prices, not keeping the same margins and to lie about the price point..check out your dept.pricing points

Produce has these sale items but then in the deep of the dept they keep raising prices to cover the maargins.it kills me when they have the same conventional items as our competition but for dollars, yes dollars more..organic and specifics you can upcharge but the consumers are wising up on the conventional strawberries

Have you guys not seen the terrible produce comps around the company? That's where the price drops have mostly happened so far.

Im not seeing lower prices but more sale items..however they make up the margin by temporarily knocking up something else in that dept..happens all the time with produce.you this great 3 pls of blueberries for 10$ at front door but they knocked up the price of kale, apples, and avocados to make up that margin

We have been doing this for quite a while now. I use to bet with fellow tms about which sale item would come back as a higher price point after the sale. A four dollar increase is nuts!

My guess is that with an increase in sales they are squeezing as much out of this as possible by slashing labor and hiking prices up. Other retailers sometimes slash labor during the holidays to increase profits, so some of it is logical but not good for those of us depending on hours or a job....

I have yet to see WFM slash prices on anything since last September.

Wow we fooled so many people. So much for core values and fair dealing with the public. Solution: Shop elsewhere.

Customers aren't stupid. If they know they can get the same product at TJ's, Publix, online, etc for a better price, that is exactly what they'll do. No, customers aren't stupid, but Whole Foods Market corporate head honchos sure are!
