I am 6-7 months from retirement. Everyone knows this - I keep no secrets. I think I am just about the oldest blue badge left in my division.
Had my one on one today. Manager's telling me I have to develop new skills and document them so he can justify my future existence; after all there could be more layoffs next year. He throws out a couple of strong suggestions about new areas I can delve into. I look at him like he is crazy. I shrug my shoulders and say, "OK, will do."
Is it any wonder with Intel so clueless as to the goals and point in life of their employees that Intel is going down the tubes?
