HSBC is a great place to spend a few years at but it's hard to work there - the deadlines can be really tough on the IT side and there are many egos and people who are really full of sh-- - they will work you a lot and you will be stressed out but you will learn a lot and if you are lucky you may get a good bonus. Layoffs are constant, they outsource a lot but that's OK all financial service companies are big on outsourcing.

Recent reduction in force layoffs as of November 1, 2016. A little over 200 people between the Elmhurst, IL AND Brandon, FL offices. Management doesn't know what they're doing. Some departments have no work and sit around all day, and others are overworked because they won't allow those employees who have no work move to the departments that are overworked. The job was nice up until a year ago, when they started cutting people. Others quit for fear of being cut and those departments aren't allowed to replace those that quit, even with internal transfers. Senior management is either clueless or just plain stupid; some procedures are just extra time consuming for no reason. 90% of the people are just waiting for their layoff. Hopefully, the end is near.
