Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

10% Pay Cut

Hearing from multiple places that an email announcing a 10% pay cut is expected soon.

Will it be a simple pay cut, as some are saying, or will it be a 10% cut effected through some sort of furlough scheme?

Will Honeywell pick and choose again who is affected?

I just can't wait to find out!!

You guys are so naive. Honeywell has already given you more than a 10% pay cut, and you don't even realize it. They did this slowly by letting inflation eat away at your pay and putting you all on furloughs. They don't need to announce a 10% pay cut. At least they are craftier and smarter than that.

Pretty soon, HON is going to CHARGE you to work here. You all know, as the first step, if you/your family do not do a blood test, you will be charged for medical insurance. A few years ago, I remember it was a credit to your health account if you do the blood test. So, think about what's next? It just gets cheaper and cheaper. There is no limit for this "who is the cheapest" corporate contest.

to the person saying the 10% pay cut "just will not happen" - why not? They did 10% pay cut (and hours cut) to us in 2009 - and followed it up with a one week furlough in Jan 2010. I hope it won't happen - but at this point anything is possible.

Regardless if the 10% pay reduction is real, graduates, go somewhere else. You will not be appreciated at honeyhell. You will be worked hard with dwindling benefits then laud off as soon as it's convenient for the company. Save yourself the stress and avoid honeyhell.

The RIF and the furloughs are over (for now) and the people left commenting here are bitter and disgruntled.

This thread is likely started by someone who is looking to rile people up. Additionally it just will not happen. Explaining a RIF and furlough to Wall Street is easy, explaining why everyone takes a 10% haircut is not. Additionally, imagine explaining this to our government customers why our rates remain constant while the employees are working at a 10% discount.

Honeywell has an incredibly terrible leadershit team, and they may not have the companies long term interests in mind when making these decisions, but a 10% haircut would be bad news for their short term (which seems to be their only focus).

There is no basis for any of the posts in the thread. There is no way the OP is accurate.

We might need to take a few pages from the slackers handbook. Work from home, heck it will save you gas money and you save all that drive time. Or go to the gym for an hour a day. You know you need to reduce your biometric numbers.

I'd never quit until I had something to go to. I have 36 years here but too young 56 to retire. I want to just point out, don't cut your nose off to spite your face. Be smart, use them for the pay they do give you and when it's right for you & your family leave then...Us e them like they've used us.

I agree 10% cut (every other Friday off) will impact me financially but no choice right now.

if this is true, I'm telling my manager the same day I receive the email that I'm giving my two weeks. Enough is enough.

10% pay cut = 50% less work. Cool, soon it will be just the slackers left and management.
