Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Who wants to work in Bartlesville? It has become very obvious since last layoff that Bartlesville is a dead end!

We know what Ryan said but the writing is on the wall, Bartlesville's time is limited! If you are here do you want out? I would like to transfer to Houston but my Supervisor isn't letting anyone go. If you are somewhere else in the company d you want to transfer to Bartlesville? How long can we keep this up?

Shutting Bartlesville down would only cost eight small fraction of what it cost to exit 1 deepwater rig contract. Exiting Bartlesville now will pay back the cost within five years!

I was a new hire from 2016,but I quite last month. Now the same company that wanted me so bad out of collage says I owe them my signing bonus and grad school tuition assistance. I guess they don't have enough billions from killing the planet and firing all their workers. Today I was told they're suing me and taking back all the 401k match and I don't get my pension.

I really hated myself for going to work at a company that kills people for a living. I no longer have to rape the planet to live.

I was in our outdated lunchroom and noticed Ryan lance was eating his lunch across the way. I walked by to see what he was eating. He had a sandwich with two kinds of red meat, no kale but iceberg lettuce. Xenophobic American cheese, white ofcourse. And a regular coke. He's fine with laying off all these people but still gorging himself with large carbon footprint meals.

Closing the Bartlesville office would save COP $2 trillion over the next 5 years. I overheard Ryan Lance talking to Mulva on the phone. Ryan was saying he could double VCIP, give everyone 18% raises and new iPhone 7's. Ryan also said we could begin investing in alternative fuels like biomanure, windmills, and fusion. Ryan Lance is almost done closing Canada operations . He told Mulva were closing ekofisk and installing windmills . By closing Bartlesville, COP would be out if the fossil fuel business by 2019.

If you are like me and believe our company's current situation has more to do with oil dropping from ~$150 to ~$40 a barrel and not evil management, hang in there. The layoffs , while devastating, will create the opportunity for quick advancement. Hang in there and as things stabilize at this new pricing environment you will be asked to fill in the higher ranks

I find the Bartlesville bashing here to be pretty juvenile. I'm houston born and raised. Came to Bartleville with my nose stuck high in the air. But now, I hope I can stay. Where else can you work for a fortune 100 company in a small town setting. Where I have time to see my kids grow up. Your coworker will tell you if something is up at the school. And be able to put some money away. Houston is great, but how much bigger can it get? How much bigger can the schools get. And , maybe I don't want my daughter dressing next to a confused boy at Katy elementary. ( before you call me an ismm, my brother is g-- and I love his mate). No, Bartlesville is the last place you can work for a big company in a American small town.

These Bville bashers want to make out that keeping an office in the company's home town is the reason for current company performance? 1st, its cheaper to have those jobs in Oklahoma than Houston. The non exempt pay scale is lower in Bartlesville. The state provided many tax incentives to companies doing business here, and this is the company's birthplace. So all you liberal wipersnappers complaining about company not being loyal, you are the ones not loyal

Unlike some, I don't wish any ill-will for any Bartlesville employees. ?When they are laid off, they will have a very difficult time finding employment elsewhere and selling their homes if they need to and I feel bad for that. However, it is time to shut down Bartlesville and consolidate the footprint of the Company. The company could run much leaner without Bartlesville. Transfer the very best employees who remain, bite the bullet on the remaining layoffs, and shut it down. Sorry.

Bartlesville is flooded with Pitt State and Emporia State grads. There's a reason the city is the way it is.

It's like this, we have ConocoPhillips Center in Houston, and we have the Out house crapper (Bartlesville) in Oklahoma. Tulsa companies don't for Bartlesville because of their attitude!

If you were layed off like I was you would jump on the chance to work anywhere. Good jobs are not that easy to find. A Bartlesville job would be a blessing for my family.

The troll is the Bartlesville lover. Bartlesville is a dysfunctional small town at best. The issues only begin with unemployment, drug addiction, poverty, crime...
