Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Some shafts aren't the kind that get covered in the papers. Friend of a friend just got denied retirement within 45 days of it - after 25 years.

What an incredible thank you very much after working in some of the most difficult regions of the world for an entire career. Absolute break down of social contract. Unethical. Callous. I spit on you, SLB.

Totally unacceptable, they should have waited until one day before retirement to get maximum use out of your friend. Some people just don 'to have what it takes to be management material.

Your friend should seek counsel. He may do well with a Jury.

Par for the course. Schlumberger really do not care about their staff at the sharp end. They only care about their precious managers who wouldn't pass a simple interview at any other company
