quarterly all-hand meetings are mandatory. yes, it means it's required. yes, you don't learn much in the meetings as you indicated. dave mosley resides in Cupertino hq and he has 4 design centers and visit Longmont at this time pose interesting point. the fact he did not come here to close the site is a good news for the site.
Why do people think that they actually need to attend these quarterly meetings? A lot of people attend to find out about layoffs. You never hear any information that you can use. if you expect an executive to proclaim the truth about the long-term future of Seagate I don't know what to tell you. By the way you're not required to attend these things why are you going?
Well, it was only 1 hr long. Snacks not needed and we certainly were not locked in and there were plenty of open seats, so I don't think people felt like cattle.
He basically said we are in for 2 more years of the same. Regarding furlough, he said that they didn't have time to pull a "bigger lever"; that this cost saving measure is small in comparison to what could have been. Not sure if that means an Oct reduction is not coming?

Only that Mosley couldn't spend a penny of his $200,000 raise to allow us to have snacks at the all hands. Seriously, not even bottled water. Basically we were loaded into the cafe like cattle so he could tell us some boring story about how interesting his genealogy is. Then proceed to lie to us about practically everything that's going on, dodge any real answers to the questions people gave him, and generally talk down to all of us. Great times.
