Here are an assessment of the iPhone7 which is still on 16nm... and it is pretty amazing and clear Apple designers are superior to Intel's and continue to add distance. Next year iPhone8 with die shrink and performance goosing will enable them to easily add another 30-40% improvement, than the iPhone8s in 2018 will get 7nm TSMC and likely before Intel 10nm sees the light of day, bad times indeed at Intel.
At 10 and 7nm Apple can easily release cores for mobile Macs that will likely be superior to Intel x86 so strike two for Intel.

SoC vendors lack the incentives to actually bring anything that can compete with Apple’s SoCs to market because OEMs by and large are content to advertise simplistic specs that don’t really have any connection to user experience.
