well first thing is ive been working with verizonwireless for 16 yrs next thing is i recieved a call over the phone stating your services are no longer needed at verizonwirless and that i can apply for a sales position and this is not assurance of employment also i was not to come back to wk so i went to my retail location recieved alot of im sorry and a paper which i was advised to go online to review my severance information this was sudden and such a bad way to be told that you are unemployed

Its funny how people are,the same people on this board are crying about oh i worked for vz for 10 plus year and did my best for them and look what they did to me,boo hoo my family..funny these are the same people that were wishing for the company to get rid of the union workers that were in this company before they were born,before there was wireless ,so you see what comes around goes around 3x,,so s--- it up and move on,you are educated right and union members are just bums as you said when they were on strike right.,so now you got a taste of your own medicine.,drink up doesn't it taste nasty

Glad your pals let you know. Maybe some of the managers were giving pushback about selection criteria being legal so they switched to phone notifications. "That darn phone, he's always laying people off, what are we gonna do with him? "
