ITC spends about a billion dollars a year. With Chevron struggling, these IT idiots need to stop doing upgrades and rolling out new "crap". Don't f..ing spent money on things that doesn't add value to the company's bottom line. No one from the business is asking for cloud or to move things to cloud, new office suite.

Lol good luck if this was possible. The only thing ITC does consistently is cause environmental issues and deliver crappy solutions with bastardized customisatization. Documentum for example... They turned industry dog poo into Chevronized dogpoo... Even worse.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a push tobget rid of embedded IT and put everyone under the ITC umbrella. A number of the other majors already have more centralized IT models than CVX.
Yay another IT Post.
unfortunately, it is the act of doing part of the upgrades and putting off the rest that keeps the whole organization as a hostage. There is no holistic approach to what needs to happen and too much unfinished projects just hanging. And then there are the project managers who are nasty and pushy and feel their personal opinion is all that counts.
Chevron management has been hoodwinked by IT for 20 years. Everyone has migrated to the cloud and are saving billions by cutting IT cost of ownership. Plus, each BU has duplicate IT professionals. It's called featherbedding.
1ac nailed it. Board is full of old timers. I think it's funny when the older crowd attempts to speak about technology. "The cyber is very important". Unfortunately, ITC has taken advantage of this. But there are many groups in Chevron taking advantage in analogous ways for self preservation. This is why we need outside consultants to come in and gut us...
Well they know most if the upper management is not computer savvy so they sell a line of BS to justify the size and spend.
