I have a lot of information from insiders at corporate which has led me to the following conclusion: the easiest way to determine if your store is closing soon is to go outside and look at the sign on the buidling. If it says Sears or Kmart then it will probably close soon.

There is a sign outside of our building? oh wait, its really dark outside. I think the lights are burnt out or the power is out on that side of the building but either way we dont have anyone with a ladder that tall to get to them. Oh wait I have a fork lift with a flat plate... Oh no... I forgot it needs a 3,000 battery that we cant afford. Maybe I can get service after it.. No that wont work either because they laid them all off. QMT could do it if he wasnt so busy driving from city to city that are 8 hour drives away. Maybe I could store use some L.E.D. flashlights and point them to the sears sign. Besides the sign, the paint job on the building might be a dead give away to the need of a good paint job.
The QMT's used to do store walks and checked for bird issues on the signs and called a contractor if they needed cleaning. They got rid of myself and a lot of other QMT's in March. A lot of what we used to do has now been thrown on the store staff and associates.
We have birds in our sign and in our front entrance. Everything covered in bird doo everyday, all day. Sidewalk, carts, windows, front of store, sign etc. Nice way to WOW our members
The A on my Sears sign has a birds nest in the triangle of the A. I have never seen any birds there though. Sears isn't even for the birds anymore! (rim shot)
There actually is a big bird nest there though. No one seems to care.
