Been hearing some former employees getting lump sum offer. On pension. I have received no offer yet. Any word on offers good or bad?

I got my check. I took the cash buyout option. Formerly worked for Comstocks Michigan foods, a division of Curtis Burns.... then they changed the name of the company 2x, once before the plant shut down and once after, becoming Birdseye. Then sold a couple times until it ended up with the Conagra and the buy out. My warning here is to check your 1099R they sent me for taxes. I had contributions both pre tax and after taxes and that is reflected in the package they sent me. It is not reflected in the 1099R they sent, just the total pay out amount. If they don't fix the 1099R to reflect that I've already paid taxes on part of this money, I could end up paying taxes on that amount again. So far I wasted half a day trying to get to someone that can help me.... I called the help number for the buyout.... It's shut down. Next I called the number both from the automated msg redirecting me from the shut down number and it's for Conagra pension. They couldn't find me in their system at first but did find me under one of their subsidiaries and they told me to call them directly, So I did, and it was Milliman who at first wasn't satisified with the standard forms of identifying myself and started asking me about info on my x which I haven't had in 30yrs. Finally I got past all that only to be told they don't handle that and transferred me back to Conagra and after explaining things again and giving them my info, they had trouble finding me again and eventually did but said I needed to talk to Milliman, They called and talked to them and transferred me to them again. Again I had to explain, and give my info and they again had trouble finding me and again I was told they don't handle that and said a company named Cower Waston was responsible and gave me a number saying I need to call them directly! Ok, should have checked the number first but didn't and guess what..... It was the number for the conagra pension buyout help line that has the recording that it's shut down! Called Conagra again and he couldn't find my info at all, said he was gonna talk to his supervisor and get me the info I need as to who to contact and call me back. That was last friday....today is wednesday and still no call back! I started the process all over again this morning by calling Conagra again. I'm not waiting for a call back about this and they can't find me in the system again! So here I am, waiting for a call that may not come, tying up my time. All I want is a fixed 1099R! I'm also thinking if their preparers did this to me, I'm probably not the only one. Check your 1099R closely. My original package showed the amounts contributed before and after taxes. Funny how they had no problem finding me to buy me out but not now?
Are you all retiring employees or older laid off employees?
Think about it. Every day they delay sending you your check the more interest they gain. What a set of slime balls. Integrity in everything we do. What a joke.
Received mine today. Deposit it at ATM at my bank. Deposit receipt stated. Check on hold. Though it may be returned. Funds available 1/13/2020.
Got mine too!
Just got mine too!!!
Just received mine!
I have informed delivery from Usps and it shows me what I’m getting in the mail everyday before it gets here. I’m getting a envelope from State Street ConAgra pension center today so hopefully that’s it
I haven’t received mine yet. This has to be the biggest bunch of crooks ever.
No check yet. Anyone see a check?
Anyone had any luck receiving their check?
Still no check... Bunch of thefts..
Anyone receive a check yet?
Still waiting on my check. What a bunch of crooks!
Has any one received their check yet? For the 2019 lump some payout.
Has anyone received their lump sum check yet in 2019?
agree on the Mercer aspect. I called and they said call the hotline they just say this month. I agree with the method of delivery its bit concerning given thefts this time of year in the mail. Post when someone gets theirs!!
Don’t bother calling Mercer, they will just send you to Conagra. Kind of frustrating that they won’t tell you anything at all. How does a company not know when they are going to send checks out to someone. Only thing I did find out was it will be coming regular USPS which is ridiculous sending that much money without some way to track it.
Any update on anyone receiving the pay out in 2019? I haven't and they just say you will receive in Dec. I wonder if calling the actual mercer line will give answers?
Received the Lump sum pension letter on Monday 26 nov 2019. Yes it is true the Letter is out there. If you will get one , I do not know . All I do know I filled out the letter and sent it back on Friday after Thanks Giving . Now I wait to see what happens.
I worked for Hunt Wesson Foods in Fullerton, Ca from 1981-1987. I did not get any information for pension. I cannot find the correct phone number or website to call anyone to ask about this. Can anyone help with info?
If they offer you a lump sum take the money and cash that check as fast as you can.
Got to love these crooks. Laughing all the way to the bank as they screw their employees.

This was from July, but:
"As of May 28, pension plan assets totaled $2.984 billion, with projected benefit obligations of $3.549 billion, for a funding ratio of 84.1%, compared to the funding ratio of 75.8% the company announced as of May 29, 2016. The company said it plans to contribute $13 million to its pension plans in fiscal 2018.
The company also disclosed it made a total of $288 million in lump-sum payments to former employees vested in its salaried pension plan as the result of an offer made to those participants. The company did not disclose the number of former employees who took the offer or were sent the offer."
Is it safe to say that around 10% of CAG pensioners accepted a buyout earlier this year?
I've heard that pensions are now locked at current salary levels. In other words, merit increases/promotions/etc. won't move the needle on future pension payouts.
I'd assume additional buyouts are on the way, potentially even for active employees.
I worked for at Congra M---ord Delaware Poultry plant they closed my pension was a 100% I sent a letter asking about my pension they never told me the true information.
My husband worked for lambweston for 18 years and when we got divorced in 95 he showed he only had 650 dollars in his pension, anyone have any idea why he would have so little money in his pension?
Anyone get their check?
I would hate to think they are adding insult to the original injury. But wait.... It is ConAgra.... Of course they could care less.
I am due the amount of 23,450 and I need it to pay some bills, still have not received it and i think it may have been sent to the wrong address...
I also got a large sum delivered on December 22 - I was very concerned because these type of transactions are always done using FedEx - in a sense I think I was very lucky and I am glad this is over!! Happy new year everyone
Well did not get anything by December 31, anybody in the same boat??
I got mine Christmas Eve just like a friend of mine.
Congratulations. When did you receive the check? I'm still waiting on mine they said late December still nothing
I thank God that my check for quite a very large sum actually arrived. My financial advisor was stunned, shocked and outraged that they didn't FedEx it to me. "What were they thinking?".
I can only imagine ConAgra saying "We mailed it. You didn't get it? Not OUR problem. "
What a group of slime buckets.
I used to work for Hunt-Wesson as many of you and decided to go for the lump sum distribution
I am flabbergasted by the fact that CONAGRA decided to use USPS to deliver the checks to all the thousands of people that may be in this program
USPS mail is lost, missplaced, etc. - there is no guarantee that the checks are going to be delivered accurately to all people
We need to stick together in case we need to take a class action lawsuit against Conagra
I was part of the Dec 2015 layoff and never got a lump sum offer... I'm 63, think it had to do with my being closer to collecting or being in a different state than Omaha? I'm kinda bummed!
Never got lump offer. 56 years old. Getting a little over 1300 per month as long as me or wife alive starting january. Not sure if was correct decision, but since never got lump offer to compare to went for sure thing.
No one has received any Lump Sum checks yet. So they have not been mailed.
So ConAgra goes back to its one consistent universal principle.
Lie and keep on lying as long as possible.
I recieved a lump some payout from ConAgra. Worked in sales from 1992-2004. The payout is for $58,000.
Based on the $450 per month annuity starting at age 65, the offer is acceptable. Rolling over the funds into my exsiting plan is the best option.
Expect that ConAgra will wait until the last possible day in December to make good on the payout.
