Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Time to get out of Wall Street's grasp!

An ideal and dreamy solution would be to sell ourselves over to a private equity firm (this is how you leave Wall Street) and grow slow like HEB does in Texas. Maybe our current leadership is doing this right now....making us sellable and viable once the time comes....I can dream right?

Private equity investors aren't stupid. This company has been shopped around for years and you can best believe that private equity investors told John and Walter that the operations are a mess, the off-balance sheet treatment of capital leases is absurd, and that yes there is a price for the shares....but it's BELOW the current market price on the exchange. In other words, the enormity of the hot mess justifies not a takeover but a TAKEUNDER. There won't be a buyout because no one wants this thing anywhere close to the current market price of the shares. In other words, shares will have to fall MUCH FURTHER to attract a buyout offer.

Private equity wants to paid just like shareholders do, there just might be less transparency.
