Too bad Canada has a very large portion of the population with their heads up their asses, opposing energy development. Until they change, we'll keep buying OPEC oil.
I would be more in favor of a giant push for natural gas.
The truth is that we all are capitalist and we failed to make a profit. Survival of the fittest, good luck to Saudi and Russia with the keys to the US.
Dream on. Now I would be in favor of a hefty tariffs on oil imported from outside North America ($40/bbl?). The notion of the US federal gov't getting a decent cut on non-Canadian imports appeals to me. No, I'm not Canadian.
