Mexico is getting furloughed too but they get 5 days off with 50% pay. So that means they only lose 2.5 days of pay. I guess they figure they will make money if no one is scrapping hardware.

To the poster who asked where you need to have a social security number (which you can get by just having a job) - IMSS or ISSTE depending where you work.
Medicine supplies are usually short but at most you need to go back a couple of days and they will give you like 10 boxes of whatever you need. (of course you need to see a specialist first in the hospital)
It does take a while, the whole red tape thing but at the end you get free meds and the doctors are actually quite good.
It is all about Mexican Labor laws, not only Furlough but layoffs, if a Company in Mexico wants to lay off someone they have to pay, 3 months of salary + 20 days per year of service, so if you worked there for 5 years you wold get almost 6 months of salary
Tell me this, does Chihuahua have a doctor on site. I do remember a full time doctor on site down there. He did basic things like shots, checkups, physicals and such. It was also rumored that he would see family members. Free of charge.
The thing about free medicine may be about another USA neighbor.
Please, let me know where I can get free medicine in México!!!!!!
Its because of the Mexican Labor laws, we laugh at our neighbors but they are well protected, plus they have free medicine.
No second furlough in Canada due to slightly stronger Labour Laws!
must be easy to split a peso
Union, union, union.....
Same as other furloughs. Previous furlough was 'voluntary' with a side of 'volunteer or we will fire you'
Sounds like the Mexican Government is looking out for their employees. The US government is worthless so it is time for Union's to start strengthening.
I'll take that deal...heck they can furlough me for all of 2017 if they would pay me 50%. Tell you what, throw in 2018 too
Lol.....
